On 15th August 2025, Rahab Centre for Hope came alive with our Independence Day celebration—bringing together dignitaries, beneficiaries, volunteers, and supporters for an inspiring day of culture, empowerment, and community. We were honored to welcome Shri Jyoti Swarup Gaur (Sub-Inspector, Delhi Police), Smt. Jyoti Pandey (President, Sneh Charitable Trust), and Capt. Choudhary (Retired, Indian Army). The festivities opened with an exquisite welcome dance by Ankita, followed by the A.S.H.A. program featuring a heartfelt Hindi speech from Aditya and an English address by Nandini.

Our adolescents took center stage in a Financial Literacy initiative, as we inaugurated the Smart Savings Bank, issuing passbooks to 38 young savers. Cultural highlights included two group dances by A.S.H.A., certificate awards to 24 graduates of our SAKSHAM Tailoring Centre, and a powerful street play on drug addiction by DEESHA Shiksha Kendra students. We also recognized 12 outstanding volunteers for their dedication to marketing and the popular Mehndi stalls. The day concluded with the inauguration of our new Counseling Centre—ensuring ongoing emotional and psychological support for all who need it.

SAKSHAM: Stitching Stories of Self-Reliance and Dignity

Rahab Centre for Hope recently celebrated a significant milestone with the Closing Certificate Distribution ceremony for our SAKSHAM tailoring program. This initiative was launched with a singular, powerful objective: to promote self-reliance among women in marginalized rural regions and enable them to become economically self-sufficient.
Strategy and Scope
Recognizing that economic independence is the bedrock of empowerment, Rahab introduced this specialized tailoring course designed specifically for women who often lack access to skill-building opportunities. The program equips beneficiaries with professional sewing skills, transforming a traditional domestic activity into a viable livelihood strategy.
Impact and Outcomes
The certification ceremony marked not just the completion of a course, but the beginning of a new chapter.
  • Earning a Livelihood: Graduates are now equipped to work from home or start small businesses, ensuring financial independence.
  • Educational Support: With the potential to earn a steady income, these women can now better support their children’s education, effectively investing in the next generation’s future.
  • Dignified Living: Beyond financial metrics, the ability to earn enhances the women’s sense of self-worth and dignity.
Sustained Benefits
The SAKSHAM program is designed to create a ripple effect of empowerment. As these women become financially independent, they contribute to the economic growth of their communities. By placing the tools of the trade in their hands, we are fostering a future defined by confidence, community upliftment, and sustainable self-sufficiency.

Rahab Centre for Hope Launches Taekwondo Program to Empower Adolescents

On 15th September 2025, Rahab Centre for Hope proudly announced the launch of our new Taekwondo training program, marking another milestone in our holistic empowerment approach for survivors and vulnerable youth. This initiative addresses the critical need for self-defense training, particularly among young girls, while fostering confidence, discipline, and resilience.

Under the expert guidance of Mr. Mohit, our dedicated young coach, 15 adolescents—6 boys and 9 girls—have enthusiastically enrolled and committed to regular training sessions. “Self-defense is not only about physical strength; it is about instilling courage, confidence, and the ability to stand tall in society,” shared Mr. Mohit. “I am excited to see these children grow in skill and spirit.”
This program complements our existing comprehensive services, including tailoring and vocational training for women, activities for the elderly, tuition support, micro-finance savings practices, and life-skills training. Our youth also engage in impactful street plays addressing social issues like mobile and alcohol addiction and promoting respect for elders.

“This is a proud and hopeful moment for us,” said Eunice Stephen from Rahab Centre for Hope. “We believe the sky is the limit, and one day, our children will represent the community—perhaps even the nation—at national and international platforms, making their families and all of us proud.”
Through this Taekwondo program, we reaffirm our mission to create a safe, empowered, and value-driven generation of young leaders who can inspire change in their communities and beyond.

Creativity & Culture: ASHA Girls Learn the Art of Mehndi

As part of Project ASHA’s holistic empowerment journey, Rahab Centre for Hope recently introduced Mehndi (henna) classes for our adolescent girls, blending cultural tradition with skill development and creative expression. This beautiful art form serves multiple purposes—nurturing creativity, building patience and focus, while simultaneously providing potential livelihood opportunities for the future.
During the engaging sessions, our girls enthusiastically practiced drawing intricate floral patterns and designs, creating a supportive environment where they encouraged one another as they learned. For many participants, this marked their first experience with applying Mehndi, and the pure joy radiating from their faces reflected their pride in creating something beautiful with their own hands.
This activity beautifully connects our beneficiaries to their cultural roots and traditions while simultaneously boosting self-confidence and demonstrating that their natural talents can become stepping stones toward independence and empowerment. The girls discovered that artistic skills like Mehndi can translate into income-generating opportunities, whether through personal services, event participation, or small business ventures.
At Project ASHA, we believe that every small step matters—from learning about health and well-being to exploring creative skills like Mehndi. Each activity contributes to nourishing not just their bodies and minds, but their futures as well. Through these comprehensive programs, we continue to empower our girls to recognize their potential and build pathways to self-sufficiency.

Free Medical & Health Camp - Bringing Healthcare to the Community

On Friday, 22nd August 2025, Rahab Centre for Hope, led by Mrs. Eunice Stephen, partnered with IPSC Hospital, Dwarka under the guidance of Dr. (Maj) Harshita Surange to organize a comprehensive free medical and health camp at Qutab Vihar Phase 1, New Delhi from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
This community-focused initiative brought quality healthcare directly to residents’ doorsteps, addressing the critical gap between medical facilities and underprivileged communities with limited healthcare access. A dedicated team of specialist doctors from IPSC Hospital graciously volunteered their time and expertise across multiple disciplines:
  • Gynaecology Specialist – Women’s health consultations and care
  • Physician & Pain Management Specialist – Comprehensive medical assessments and pain relief solutions
  • Dental Specialist – Oral health examinations and treatments
  • General Physician – Primary healthcare consultations
Impact Achieved: During the camp, 132 community members received completely free medical attention, professional consultations, and necessary medications. Beyond treating existing health concerns, our medical team provided valuable awareness sessions on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, proper nutrition, and overall well-being practices.

The overwhelming positive response from beneficiaries highlighted the urgent need for accessible healthcare in underserved communities. Residents expressed profound gratitude for receiving quality medical care without financial barriers, many accessing specialist consultations for the first time.

This successful initiative exemplifies Rahab Centre for Hope’s unwavering commitment to the holistic health and well-being of our community. We extend heartfelt appreciation to IPSC Hospital Dwarka, the volunteer medical team, and all supporters who made this life-changing camp possible.

Healing Through Baking: Rahab Women Rise with Hope, Skill, and Dignity

At Rahab, baking has become a story of healing and hope. Many women who join our community carry wounds too deep for words and some have never been able to read or write. Yet when they step into our kitchen, all barriers fall away. With interest, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, they knead dough, roll it gently, and wait for the oven’s comforting hum.

The first aroma of fresh bread and cakes rising awakens memories of home, lights up their faces, and stirs dreams of independence and skill. Baking here is more than food—it is a testament to dignity, joy, and transformation. Through flour, sugar, and warmth, our beneficiaries discover that their hands—once marked by pain—can create something beautiful, nourishing, and full of love.
