Enactus Hansraj College, a student-led social entrepreneurship organization committed to creating sustainable solutions for pressing societal challenges contacted me and did a half day workshop.
They are currently working on Project NIRMAL, an initiative aimed at producing eco-friendly dishwashing liquid using bioenzymes derived from fruit and vegetable waste. This product not only offers a sustainable alternative to chemical-based cleaners but also significantly reduces water pollution.
Our adolescents took center stage in a Financial Literacy initiative, as we inaugurated the Smart Savings Bank, issuing passbooks to 38 young savers. Cultural highlights included two group dances by A.S.H.A., certificate awards to 24 graduates of our SAKSHAM Tailoring Centre, and a powerful street play on drug addiction by DEESHA Shiksha Kendra students. We also recognized 12 outstanding volunteers for their dedication to marketing and the popular Mehndi stalls. The day concluded with the inauguration of our new Counseling Centre—ensuring ongoing emotional and psychological support for all who need it.

On 15th September 2025, Rahab Centre for Hope proudly announced the launch of our new Taekwondo training program, marking another milestone in our holistic empowerment approach for survivors and vulnerable youth. This initiative addresses the critical need for self-defense training, particularly among young girls, while fostering confidence, discipline, and resilience.
“This is a proud and hopeful moment for us,” said Eunice Stephen from Rahab Centre for Hope. “We believe the sky is the limit, and one day, our children will represent the community—perhaps even the nation—at national and international platforms, making their families and all of us proud.”
Through this Taekwondo program, we reaffirm our mission to create a safe, empowered, and value-driven generation of young leaders who can inspire change in their communities and beyond.
The overwhelming positive response from beneficiaries highlighted the urgent need for accessible healthcare in underserved communities. Residents expressed profound gratitude for receiving quality medical care without financial barriers, many accessing specialist consultations for the first time.
At Rahab, baking has become a story of healing and hope. Many women who join our community carry wounds too deep for words and some have never been able to read or write. Yet when they step into our kitchen, all barriers fall away. With interest, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, they knead dough, roll it gently, and wait for the oven’s comforting hum.
